What do I need to walk at Graduation? –

All participants are required to wear a cap, gown, and tassel to graduation. Master and Doctoral students are also required to wear an academic hood to the ceremony.

When is the deadline to purchase regalia? –

There is not a deadline to purchase regalia. The University Store stocks regalia packages year round. However, you are encouraged to purchase early, four to six weeks before the ceremony, to ensure size availability.

Regalia can be purchased online and picked up in store or shipped to your home for an additional charge. You can see the University Store hours for pick up here.

How does the sizing work?

Gowns are sized according to the graduate’s height. Order the gown according to your height. The hem of the gown should fall between your knee and calf.

Plus size gowns are also available in the following sizes

Plus size guideline:

Plus 1 – 4’9”-5’5” (over 200 lbs.)

Plus 2 – 5’6”-5’11” (over 275 lbs.)

Plus 3 – 6’1”-6’5” (over 325 lbs.)

Gowns are available at the University Store to try on if you are between sizes or not sure which will fit best. Gowns can also be exchanged if you need a different size.

How do I receive my honor cords? –

The following honor cords are available approximately six weeks before the ceremony.

-Latin honor cords (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude)

-University Honor College cords

-Department Honor Cords

These will be included in your cap and gown purchase at no additional cost. However, if you purchase your cap and gown before the list is available, you will need to return to the University Store to pick them up.

Philanthropy cords are available from the University Store as well approximately three weeks before Graduation.

How do I receive graduation accessories for my club or organization? –

For all other cords and stoles, please contact your club or organization.

Can I purchase the components individually?

Yes. Each piece of the package is available for purchase separately. Tassels and caps are listed on the University Store website for individual purchase. If you only need to purchase the gown, please contact the University Store.

Is Regalia available to rent?

Students participating in graduation cannot rent their regalia.

Faculty who need to rent regalia to participate in graduation should contact the University Store six weeks prior to the ceremony.

Is the University Store open on the day of commencement?

Yes. The University Store is open on the day of commencement. Updates will be made to our schedule closer to graduation. Please see our hours here.
